Before coming to Center Grove in 2001, Mr. Kelly was (and still is) a licensed special education teacher. Mr. Kelly is licensed in four different areas and taught students with emotional disabilities, mild disabilities, and moderate disabilities at Pike High School.
Mr. Kelly began his Center Grove career after he was hired to be the Dean of CGHS and has been with the district ever since. Mr. Kelly also served as CGHS's Assistant Principal for five years before becoming Pleasant Grove Elementary's Principal in 2008.
As of 2024, Mr. Kelly entered his 17th year as Pleasant Grove's Principal and has spent 24 years with Center Grove. Mr. Kelly is a proud graduate of the University of Evansville and holds a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan, as well as an Administrative Licensure through Indiana University.
Mr. Kelly is one of only two people to hold the Principal title at Pleasant Grove, with Roger Micnerski serving as the first principal from the time the school opened in 1989 to 2008.
Mr. Kelly and his wife, Christine, have three children: Cooper (23), Quinn (20), and Cade (18). Quinn is a junior at Taylor University, where she plays basketball, and Cade will begin his freshman year this fall playing baseball at Rend Lake Junior College. Much of their time is spent following athletic schedules and supporting their children as they pursue their passions.
Parent-Teacher Organization Meetings are every month at 7:00 p.m. in the PGES Library.
The goal of the PTO webpage is to provide parents and community members with relevant information about the Pleasant Grove Parent-Teacher Organization.
